Hungarian Days Starts in Vienna

Hungarian Days started on Thursday evening with a literary evening featuring Bank Austria scholarship winners: the Hungarian writer Ágnes Judit Kiss and the Turkish writer Sema Kaygusuz.
 
At the beginning of October, the Collegium Hungaricum in Vienna will show an exhibition of work by the Hungarian-born photographer Robert Capa.
 
The culture institute will also host an event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Hungarian desk of Radio Free Europe. Guests at the event will include former Radio Free Europe staff Csaba Skultéty, who broadcast under the name Márton Ambrus, and Barna Büky, whose broadcast name was János Vadász.
 
The Hungarian Days programme includes a tourism day, a film screening, concerts and dance events. It will wind up with a concert by Sándor and Ádám Jávorkai in the grand hall of Vienna?s old town hall on October 17.
 
Hungarian Days is part of Bank Austria?s series showcasing the cultures of countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Its co-organisers are the Balassi Institute ? Collegium Hungaricum, the Hungarian embassy in Austria and state tourism agency Magyar Turizmus.
