Delta, a complicated family drama and a free adaptation of Hamlet and Euripides' Electra, is among the 22 titles competing for the Palme d'Or this year.
"I have a feeling that the audience likes "Delta" more than my previous films," Mundruczo told MTI after the screening.
Production of "Delta" suffered strains after the sudden death of leading actor Lajos Bertok in 2006. The film was completed in the end with the folk violin virtuoso Felix Lajko taking the lead role, partnering actress Orsi Toth.
"Delta" took the Hungarian Film Week's Golden Reel award this year.
