Hungarian feature, short film to compete at Cannes

New generation Hungarian film director Kornel Mundruczo's family drama "Delta" will be competing for the 2008 Palme d'Or award against 18 other titles by directors including names such as Wim Wenders, Clint Eastwood and Steven Soderbergh.
 
Delta
Delta is a free adaptation from Shakespeare's Hamlet and Euripide's Electra. 
 
The short film enlisted in the competition is "411-Z" by young director Daniel Erdelyi about a barge on the river Danube on an uncomplicated summer day.

The head of the festival international jury will be leading American actor and director Sean Penn.
