Delta - a brother-and-sister story set in an isolated landscape - is competing against Le silence de Lorna (Lorna's Silence), directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne (Belgium), and Obcan Havel (Citizen Havel), directed by Miroslav Janek and Pavel Koutecky (Czech Republic), for the award. The three films were picked from ten nominations.
The winner, to be selected in two months, will be awarded the cost of translating and subtitling their film into all of the official EU languages.
Last year's Lux Award went to Auf der anderen Seite (On the Other Side), directed by Fatih Akin.
