Hungarian Film Week records 48,000 visitors

The main venue, Palace MOM Park cinema, put on 402 film screenings during the event with a total of 40,981 visitors, while Urania cinema in the city centre also hosted shows, Ilona Kozma Veres said.

   
The most popular film was Szabolcs Hajdu's Bibliotheque Pascal, which won the Grand Prix of the festival, and attracted over 1,600 viewers during the week. This was followed by veteran filmmaker Miklos Jancso's So Much for Justice (Oda az igazsag), which was not in competition, and Kolorado Kid, a film by Andras B Vagvolgyi which also won a prize, and Diana Groo's Vespa.
   
Last year, the Film Week had a record number of 57,000 visitors at its eight-day programme.
