Gáti applied in a tender to show her art abroad and was offered the chance after a personal interview with Balázs Bokor, Hungary?s chief consul in Los Angeles. Gáti?s son had told her about the tender.
Gáti?s visit to the United States is also supported by the chairman of the Tolna County local council and Paks Nuclear Power Plant.
The nuclear power plant also supported the renovation of Gáti?s Myth Gallery, a traditional farm house in Fadd that once belonged to her great grandparents.
