Hungarian Galleries Show at Viennafair

English

This year's Viennafair, held for the fifth time, drew 15,700 visitors who came to see works by more than a thousand artists represented by 122 galleries.

From Hungary came the acb Contemporary Art Gallery, the Inda Gallery, the Kisterem Gallery, the Knoll Gallery Budapest, the Ráday Gallery and the Viltin Gallery.

The Ráday Gallery brought work by the kinetic sculptor Bálint Bolygó, whose "Trace" drawing machine drew many repeat visitors to the stand. Austrian daily Die Presse even mentioned the gallery's stand stand in its May 7 issue.

The acb Gallery showed conceptual works by Hajnalka Tarr, Gyula Várnai and Ferenc Varga.

The Kisterem Gallery brought works by Follard, Káldi and Kokesch. The gallery established many new contacts with collectors  in Vienna, some of them even Hungarian.

The Knoll Gallery showed paintings by Ákos Birkás and Csaba Nemes. Local broadcaster ORF made a report on Nemes, but works by Tony Cragg and Paul Horn also attracted interest.

Both the acb Gallery and the Kisterem Gallery have said they will participate at next year's Viennafair.
