Reisinger is a prize-winning artist whose work is internationally known. He has designed corporate logos and identities, color environments, exhibitions, stamps and posters.
Reisinger was born in Kanjiza, in the former Yugoslavia. He was hidden by Serbian families during the Nazi occupation, but most of his family did not survive the Holocaust. He immigrated to the new State of Israel in 1949.
The show at the Hungarian Jewish Museum divides more than a hundred posters into three groups. A section on social and political posters includes a recent commission from Japan for support for the people of Fukushima, said curator Rita Rusznák. Another section focuses on the artists? hand painted posters for films and music festivals as well as his branding work, and the third part of the exhibition showcases the use of colour in the Reisinger?s art, she added.
Budapest?s Museum of Applied Art hosted an exhibition of Reisinger?s work in 2005, on his 70th birthday. The same year, he was presented the Knight?s Cross Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic.
The exhibition at the Hungarian Jewish Museum runs until January 12, 2012.
