Móczár was elected by Europa Cantat's general meeting, held in Sofia.
The general meeting approved the merger of Europa Cantat with the European umbrella for national choir federations AGEC to form the European Federation of Choirs. Preparations for the merger will be made in 2010 and it will take place in 2011.
The new organisation will combine the knowledge and experience of two important European organisations in order to offer the best service to choirs and create a common, stronger European choir federation that promotes choral music in Europe.
The general meeting also approved plans for 2010, including two Hearts-in-Harmony events in Budapest and Barcelona.
