The centre, established by the Minerva Arts Association, which publishes the local Hungarian language daily Szabadsag, and the Kós Károly Academy Foundation, will host a presentation of ?Jenő Dsida?s Collected Poems?, published by Savaria University Press Foundation, under the direction of the Hungarian literary historian Balázs Fűzfa, said Minerva Arts Association chairman Zoltán Tibori Szabó.
The volume?s editor, Gustzáv Láng, will speak with the local literary historian Lajos Kántor and the poet Béla Markó at the presentation.
In addition to organising scientific, cultural and media programmes, the Minerva Arts Association wants the centre to foster ties with the Hungarian Media in Cluj Napoca in the area of archiving with the involvement of university educators and researches, Tibori Szabó said.
The main pillar of the centre is the daily Szabadság, which is published on the premises, but this is rounded out by educational and research activities undertaken by the media studies departments at the Babes-Bolyai University of Science and the Sapientia Transylvanian Hungarian University of Sciences.
The Minerva Arts Association has 30,000-35,000 press photographs taken over 50 years in its collection. It is hoped the material can be put on display as exhibitions from time to time at the centre.
