One of the pieces on the programme is Berlioz?s The Damnation of Faust, which the orchestra will perform with the Hungarian National Choir and the Hungarian Army Men's Choir.
Conductor Zoltán Kocsis said the Berlioz piece was difficult to define.
?To describe it as an oratorio is not precise because it much more resembles an opera than most oratorios do. Yet, it is less than an opera because it lacks continuous action,? he said.
?We will of course perform this piece for the umpteenth time because it is a very, very important work. It had a tremendous effect on Berlioz?s successors, especially on Liszt and Wagner,? he added
