The orchestra will start the concert with Liszt?s Les Préludes, followed by the Hungarian composer?s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the soloist Gábor Farkas. The programme will wind up with Mahler?s Symphony No. 1, which premiered in Budapest in 1889, when the composer was director of the city?s opera.
The National Philharmonic will next play in Budapest on December 6. Yoav Talmi will conduct at the performance at the Palace of Arts (MUPA) which will feature the pianist Cyprien Katsaris.
