Tóth will be one of nine young actors European Film Promotion (EFP) will show to film industry insiders and the press at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival next year. Among the other rising stars are the Dane Cyron Melville, Samuli Vauramo from Finland, Hafsia Herzi from France, David Kross from Germany, Sarah Bolger from Ireland, Alba Caterina Rohrwacher from Italy, Verónica Echegui from Spain, Celine Bolomey from Switzerland and Carey Mulligan from the UK.
The participants were chosen by a jury of their peers from Belgium, the UK, Macedonia, Portugal and Spain.
Berlin International Film Festival director Dieter Kosslick will present the nine actors on February 9.
Nagy graduated from Budapest's Theatre and Film Arts College in 2004. Already as a first-year student, she received attention for her role in Mundruczó's film Pleasant Days, which was acknowledged at the Hungarian Film Week. She made her debut in Cannes in the title role of Johanna (2005), and she was the female lead in Mundruczó's Delta, released this year.
Other Hungarians to have participated in the Shooting Stars programme include Marcell Miklós, Szonja Oroszlán, Eszter Ónodi, Dorka Gryllus, Gabriella Hámori, Péter Nagy and Zsolt Nagy.
