Regős, born on March 7, 1926, studied at Kálmán Rózsahegyi's academy but was largely self-taught, drawing on the work of Tomaszewszki as a source of inspiration.
Regős was a member of the Hungarian Ice Variety Show between 1957 and 1965. He established the pantomime troupe Commedia XX in 1962 and became director of the Budapest University of Engineering Pantomime Group from 1974.
Regős's contributions to pantomime moved the art in the direction of movement acting. He founded and became the director of the International and the Hungarian Movement Theatre Festivals. He also organised summer movement workshops at the Budapest University of Engineering.
