Last summer, the play was one of 45 picked for New York's Midtown International Theatre Festival. It also showed in June at the Havoc Theatre.
Prison Theatre is performed by Újpest Theatre art director Gábor Harsányi, who wrote the piece, and Zoltán Tar. Harsányi plays an inmate who is inspired by a falsely imprisoned actor whose performances break through the walls around him.
Harsányi said he is looking for an American producer to turn Prison Theatre into a film.
