The film entitled "The Maiden Danced to Death" adapts an old folk ballad in contemporary setting and will feature the renowned Hungarian dance troupe Honved Dance Theatre, said its producer Gabor Garami.

Shooting is scheduled to start in April and a Canadian partner is expected to join the production, he added.

The film will be based on a 2008 stage play by the Honved Dance Theatre, with choreography by Zoltan Zsurafszky and a score by Ferenc Kiss.

Hules has also written the script and the film will be shot by the internationally renowned cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, Garami said. Talks are under way with Donald Sutherland and Carrie-Ann Moss to appear in the film, he added.

Garami said "The Maiden Danced to Death" is expected to premiere at the 2011 Hungarian Film Week.
