The performance, on Thursday, was part of the programme of the Belgrade International Theatre Festival (BITEF).
?The audience from Belgrade and Novi Sad gave the performance an exceptionally warm reception,? said BITEF artistic director Jovan Cirilov. He added that the adaptation, directed by Andrei Serban, was ?extremely interesting?.
The troupe will perform the piece again on Friday.
BITEF, launched in 1967, is among Europe?s biggest theatre festivals.
