 The Secret of Kells

The Secret of Kells directed by the Irish Tomm Moore was partially made at the studio in Central Hungary's Kecskemet, and has been nominated for best animated feature, CEO of Kecskemetfilm, Ferenc Mikulas, told MTI.

Work on Moore's hand-drawn animation was carried out in Kecskemet for one year starting in April 2007, Mikulas said. Moore was inspired by the famous Hungarian cartoon series - Hungarian Folk Tales - from the seventies made at the Kecskemet studio.

The Secret of Kells is French-Belgian-Irish-Hungarian financed, Mikulas said.

"The nomination is a great success for the studio, which had never produced a work that received an Oscar nomination before," he added.
