Hungarian Wave is a rich programme of exhibitions, concerts and literature organised by the Hungarian Cultural Institute of Sofia. Among the highlights of the series is an exhibition of works by Victor Vasarely - the Hungarian father of Op-Art - from the Csepei collection. Works from the collection have already been shown in the Bulgarian National Gallery. Mirror Images, an exhibition of photographs from the Carpathian Basin by László Lugo Lugosi based on old etchings, will also be on display.

Béla Ágoston and his band will play a mix of jazz and folk music on an open-air stage on July 30 and 31, and Rostislav Jovchev, who is among Bulgaria's best interpreters of Liszt, will play a piano recital of Hungarian music.

A new collection of Hungarian poetry, entitled Summer Evening Delirium, will be launched at Hungarian Wave.

The Ulászló Memorial Museum of Varna will present a study of the history of Hungarian-Bulgarian relations entitled From Nikápoly to Vienna, and the Rubik Studio will hold a seminar on solving Rubik's cube.
