The prize, which comes with a purse of EUR 20,000, is being presented for Krasznahorkai?s collection of short stories Seoibo was Walking Down There.
The prize is granted every other year by BHF Bank, the Goethe Institute, Literarisches Colloqium Berlin and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
