Hungarian Writer Recognised in Germany

The prize was presented for Krasznahorkai?s collection of short stories entitled Seiobo on the Ground.

 
The author and his German translator will share a EUR 20,000 purse.
 
The Hungarian author Péter Esterházy delivered the laudation at award ceremony.
 
The prize is granted every other year by the BHF Bank Foundation, the Goethe Institute, Literarisches Colloqium Berlin and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
 
The Hungarian author László Darvasi won the prize in 2004.
