The book, published in Hungarian in 1918, was translated by Éva Kertész, who also published it in Italy as part of the Biblioteca Tricolore series at her own expense.
The distribution of the book, published with its original illustrations by Károly Reich, is being supported by the Hungarian Academy in Rome.
Kertész, who lives in Rome, earlier translated Vuk, another Hungarian children?s classic by István Fekete into Italian. The book was published by Antonio Stango.
Kertész next plans to publish Tüskevár, another Hungarian youth classic by Fekete.
