"We filmmakers, sometimes we forget the power of sound to create atmospheres and more often we use it in a predictable way. There's a tremendous originality and risk in the experimental and original way this film builds up its somber narration around its powerful sound design," the jury said in its assessment Erdély's and Székely's work.

The Silver Bear - Jury Grand Prix at this year's festival went to Alle Anderen (Everyone else) by Maren Ade, and Gigante, by Adrián Biniez.

The Silver Bear - Best Director was presented to Asghar Farhadi for Darbareye Elly (About Elly).

The Silver Bear - Best Actress went to Birgit Minichmayr in Alle Anderen (Everyone else), and the Silver Bear - Best Actor was awarded to Sotigui Kouyate for his role in London River by Rachid Bouchareb.
