Boldoczki, who has developed a reputation as one of the world's best trumpet players, has been invited to the festival for the third time in five years. He will perform with the Sinfonia Varsovia chamber orchestra and the oboe player Albrecht Mayer on July 22.
Debrecen's Csokonai Theatre will bring its production of Marin Drzic's comedy Dundo Marojek, directed by Attila Vidnyánszky, to the old town square on August 6. The performance is timed to coincide with the 500th anniversary of Drzic's birth.
Detoni, whose mother is Hungarian and who graduated from the Liszt Music Academy, will perform Serenade for Trumpet, Piano and Strings, by Bruno Bjelinks on August 4.
The Cuban opera singer Ramón Vargas - who is also in the programme of the Veszprém Summer Festival in Hungary - will perform in Dubrovnik alongside the renowned Albanian singer Inva Mulla.
Hungarian Minister of Education and Culture István Hiller has confirmed an invitation by his Croatian counterpart Bozo Biskupic to attend the opening of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The two men will hold talks on the occasion to discuss a three-year working schedule to be signed at the joint Hungarian-Croatian cabinet meeting on September 4, as well as ways Croatia can become involved in the Pécs 2010 European Capital of Culture programme.
Hiller will also meet Dubrovnik mayor Dubravka Suica and festival director Ivica Prlender.
