The work is the result of a project initiated by the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts.
Ágnes Előd, a topic leader for the academy?s graduate school, said the school?s intermedia faculty had won a Tempus university grant entitled Interventions and Correspondences that involved establishing cooperation with art schools in London, Stuttgart and Krakow. Three teachers and ten students from each of the school are participating in the programme, she added.
Students took to the streets to document life in London on film or in photographs between November 21 and December 2.
Előd said there was no shortage of topics, considering protests and strikes that took place over two days during the period.
In addition to Előd, the Hungarian students participating in the project are being assisted by Szabolcs KissPál, an intermedia artist and instructor at the Hungarian Academy of Fine arts, and Allan Siegel, an American performance artist.
?What the Correspondences and Interventions represents?is a form of laboratory in which the knowledge and experience of each participating teacher and student can be shared and tested. The benefits of this process demonstrate new learning possibilities which, on a European and international scale, contribute to strengthening the stature of multidisciplinary programmes throughout the Erasmus network as well as in other institutions developing innovative arts education initiatives,? according to the project?s website.
