László Gőz, whose Budapest Music Center (BMC) has published some 30 recordings of French musicians or of works by French composers, praised the BMC team at the awards ceremony, noting he would not be able to promote French culture without their support.
Árpád Schilling and his Krétakör theatre troupe have performed in France many times. Last year, Schilling prepared French Theatre Academy students for an innovative performance of Hamlet at a five-week master class.
Gábor Szabó created a statue of the French photographer Jean Pierre Pedrazzini, who was killed while covering the 1956 Hungarian Revolution for Paris Match, in Budapest's Köztársaság Square.
