Hungary's first London film showcase big draw

Maestro

Maestro, an Oscar-nominated animation film by Geza M. Toth and Control, a feature by Nimrod Antall were curtain raisers.

 
Other feature films programmed were Kriszta Goda's Just Sex and Nothing Else, Agnes Kocsis' Fresh Air, Istvan Palfi's Hukkle, Csaba Bollok's Iszka's Journey, Aron Gauder's The District and Benedek Fliegauf's Dealer.

An exhibition of posters for the early films of Alexander Korda were shown in parallel with the festival.

 
The Hungarian cultural centre also hosted a forum of film professionals from Hungary and Britain.

The British director Kevin Macdonald, who was the chief patron of the festival, said he had undertaken the task in honour of his Hungarian grandfather, the Oscar-winning screenwriter, film director, and producer Emerich Pressburger.
