The film, which is well known by Hungarians even today because it is regularly broadcast on television, has deteriorated over time as the prints were copied again and again.
The digitally remastered version will be shown at Budapest's Puskin Cinema, the same cinema in which it premiered 77 years ago.
The digitally remastered version will be published on DVD, together with interviews with filmmakers, old newsreels and popular songs featured in the film, in April or May.
The remastering project was supported by the Hungarian Development Bank.
