Hungary Guest of Honour at Giffoni Manger Festival

English

The invitation to the festival was delivered personally by Cardinal Monsignore Don Antonio Tedesco to Gabriella Igyártó, managing director of Hungary?s Alliance of Folk Artist Associations (NESZ).

The invitation came after the Tedesco was impressed by an exhibition at Budapest?s Museum of Ethnography organised by NESZ and the House of Traditions.

As a result, about 50 pieces by Hungary?s best folk artists will go on display in a 14th century monastery in Giffoni from December 2.

Another piece of Hungarian folk art will be exhibited in Rome during this year?s holidays: a carved wooden manger by the Hungarian István Kiss will be shown in the Pantheon.
