Following the award ceremony, an exhibition will present the photos of the winner, as well as of the second and third competitors, James Naylor (UK) and Vincent Bitaud (France).

Daniel Halasz won the competition with his "Imaginary journal", a series of postcard-like photos "reminding us that it is difficult to separate the world ahead of us from our past and it is worth reconsidering how we conceptualise progress".

The winning photos were selected out of 5,000 images submitted by 1,500 photo artists.

The exhibition at Brussels' Espace Photographique Contretype will be open until November 22.
