Participants from Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary will discuss the role of authors and their national organisations before and after the democratic changes in 1989.
The two-day conference will also review the situation and prospects of the minority literature in these countries.
Speakers at the conference will include Czech author Bohumil Dolezal, Polish poet Bohdan Zadura and literary historian-critic Jerzy Snopek, Romanian literary editor-poet Mircea Dinescu and Hungarian writer-editor Karoly Alexa, former head of the Hungarian news agency MTI.
