International Liszt symposium in September

The symposium between 5 and 12 September will include improvisation competitions for various age groups, courses, a conference and concerts. The art faculty of Pecs University will organise the event in cooperation with the Hungarofest Klassz Music Office.

   
The competition's main awards will carry cash prizes of 2,000 euros each. In addition, participants can win contracts and invitations by festival and concert organisers and radio stations.
   
Master courses will be held by jazz pianist Karoly Binder, Dutch jazz pianist and composer Rob van Kreeveld and French organist and composer Thierry Escaich.
   
Pecs was chosen as the European Capital of Cultural for 2010, in a troika with Germany's Essen and Turkey's Istanbul.
