In autumn thousands of much-awaited, shiny brown chestnuts fall to the ground. They become little people or animals in the hands of children.
One chestnut comes to life and sets off to discover the world. He is Kippkopp. He walks on the meadow in summer or in the snow in winter. He even climbs to the top of a Christmas tree. One day he finds a friend. She is Tipptopp, the chestnut girl. They even find five chestnut children. Their tales are in six volumes and their adventures are to be continued.
