?If the illustration visualises the poem as a whole rather than just one scene or one hero of it then I consider it good. There is however another, a psychologoical side to it ? the illustrator often reflects his own approach to the particular work. It is similar to the exercise when the psychologist asks the client to express his associations, thoughts about the splash which appears on the sheet before his eyes. The artist therefore perceives the written work as a splash and visualises the impressions the splash generates.?
