Also displayed are works by Rembrandt, Turner, Rodin and Chagall and by contemporary artists such as Mark Rothko, Andreas Serrano, Kiki Smith and Yoko Ono.

Speaking at the opening the museum's director, Laszlo Baan said that the Budapest exhibition presented some of the most precious artifacts of the Jerusalem museum, which has loaned the exhibits for the first time since undergoing reconstruction.

The exhibition, which was opened by Hungarian Education and Culture Minister Istvan Hiller and the director of the Israel Museum, James S.Snyder, will be open for the public until September 6.
