The eleven-day festival opens with Paolo Virzi's comedy Her Whole Life Is Ahead of Her about philosophy student who, while searching for a job in her chosen field, works in a Rome call centre.
Special guests at the festival include directors Pupi Avati and Sergio Rubini, as well as actress Isabella Ragonesi.
After the festival there will be a retrospective showing of several of Pupi Avati's films at the Pushkin cinema between November 17 and November 25, the Italian Institute said.
