The charity concert is one of the highlights of the concert hall's Beethoven Then and Now series from Thursday to Sunday taking place in the newly renovated Alice Tully hall and the Avery Fisher hall. The two orchestras will perform four concerts under Fischer's baton of the Beethoven symphonic cycle culminating in the back-to-back "comparison" performances.
The performances are to be dedicated to the memory of Sir George Solti, who conducted the Budapest orchestra on numerous occasions.
