The new Veszprém Arena will host a performance of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story on July 22. The musical will feature Erika Miklósa, Kata Janza and Attila Dolhai in the lead roles. The performance will feature a seventy-piece symphony orchestra, a pop group and about fifty dancers.
The Gipsy Kings will play on the open-air stage in front of the Bishop's Palace in the castle on July 23. The world-famous Norwegian saxophone player Jan Garbarek will come to the stage with his quartet on July 24.
More than four hours of jazz and funk are on the programme on July 25. The Dutch saxophone player and singer Candy Dulfer will perform with her band on the open-air stage in the castle, to be followed by Maceo Parker and his ensemble. On July 26, Salif Keita and his band from Mali will perform.
In case of bad weather, all outdoor concerts will be moved to the Veszprém Arena.
Festival-goers can see an exhibition of the history of the 183-year-old Herend Porcelain Manufacture in the Dubniczay Palace. The exhibition runs from June 13 until October 8.
