János Bródy Performs in Los Angeles

English

 János Bródy

Bródy lifted the mood of the audience in the ballroom of the Hungarian House on a rainy evening in Los Angeles. Returning to the States for the first time in more than ten years, he played many of his old and well known songs, bringing Hungarians in the audience back decades.

"His presence in such iconic groups as Illés and Fonográf, and his collaboration on the rock opera Stephen the King enabled him to speak what could not be spoken at a time of communist censorship," the concert organisers said of Bródy's past.

Sharing the bill were Gábor Bihari and Kinga Tóth, who sang parts from Stephen the King.

The band ESM opened for Bródy.

Consul General of Hungary in Los Angeles Balázs Bokor attended the concert.
