Murányi played with Armstrong for five years and he worked with Roy Eldridge for more than a decade. In Hungary he has performed or worked with nearly all of the best local acts, among them the Benkó Dixieland Band, the Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band, Jazz Steps, the Joe Laux Jazz Band and the Storyville Jazz Band.
Ten Hungarian bands will play a special birthday concert dedicated to Murányi in April.
