Diversity of styles is one of the Sziget trademarks on the international stage, according to the festival organiser Károly Gerendai.

?In addition to a varied list of performers, we try to develop a programme that meets audiences? expectations by inviting artists who are current on the international festival scene. At the same time, we list some of the Hungarian audience?s favourites: groups that have already proven successful at the Sziget and many people asked for their return. Additionally, it has been our aim for several years to introduce new productions to local audiences: ones that they are less likely to know here but have been increasingly popular internationally.?

The same approach has been applied to the World Music Stage, where this year?s line-up will include Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club featuring Omara Portuondo, Oi-Va-Voi, Tony Allen, and Shantel & Bucovina Club Orkestar. Among the new stars to perform this year are 08001 and Jaune Toujours.
