The festival, organised by American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee?s Hungarian Jewish Social Support Foundation, is being held for the fourth year.
Restaurants and cafes will offer more traditional and contemporary Jewish dishes at this year?s event than ever before. Visitors can find cholent, ?flodni? cake and other kosher specialities.
Among the concerts on the festival programme are ones by Ferenc ?Fegya? Jávori and Tamás Dunai, the Delelamm jazz group, the Vinylstrings duet, the Mizrachim band, and Viktória Eszményi and Gábor Heilig. The Batyu theatre and the Apró theatre will also perform.
On November 27, festival-goers may take advantage of a ?living library?, borrowing a philosopher, a rabbi, a museologist or a linguist for enlightenment that cannot be found in books.
A walking tour of Budapest?s Jewish quarter will take place on Sunday.
