The two bands will play on New Year's Eve. Kispál és a Borz will play a best-of set of songs from the past twenty years and Quimby will follow, bringing in the New Year.
The festival, being held for the first time, is the brainchild of the organisers of the Szeged Youth Festival, better known by its Hungarian acronym "SZIN", a summer musical extravaganza. It will feature two stages: the Pepsi Ice marquee, where acts such as the New York-based Jazzmatazz as well as star DJs Dave Seaman (UK) and Marko Nastic (Serbia) will perform, and the expanded Borsodi Malátabár. The Szeged Ice Rink will also be open for festival-goers' enjoyment.
The SZIN Ice Festival will kick off on Saturday with performances by Nyuszi, Sun City (featuring Tamás Pál of Megasztár fame) and Vad Fruttik, before a surprise-filled concert by Kiscsillag. 30Y, PASO and Kool Runningz will perform late into the evening.
Sunday will start with Balkan Fanatik, The Puzzle, Peter Red Project and Zagar. Underground DívÁK will unite some of Hungary's best female underground singers, including former Anima singer Juci Németh, former Amorf Ördögök star Bori Péterffy, and former Yonderboi singer Edina Kuczora. Sunday will also see one of the great SZIN favourites, Tündérground, on stage, followed by Brains, Anima Sound System and Fraser.
