Front man András Lovasi said the band rarely plays abroad, perhaps once a year, and always in clubs, with the exception of performances in countries with big Hungarian minorities. The show in Stuttgart will be their biggest ever abroad, which presents a greater challenge, but also a bigger reward, he added.
The band will perform its songs in Hungarian, without any German translation, but Lovasi said he would give a short introduction to each of the songs.
In the second part of the show, the band, which includes Lovasi on bass and vocals, guitarist András Kispál, keyboardist Ákos D. Diossy and drummer Ábel Mihalik, will be joined by a Transylvanian string trio.
The Hungarian Institute of Stuttgart organised the Kispál és a Borz concert with support from the Pécs2010 European Capital of Culture project bureau.
The Hungarian Institute of Stuttgart also invited ten artists from the Bázis Stone Carving Association as ambassadors of Pécs. A collection of their works will be opened on Friday by the Italian writer, director and cultural manager Giorgio Pressburger.
The Villány String Quartet, established by members of the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra, will play a concert concluding the series on July 9.
