Kodály's Country Comes to Budapest

English

The Rába Singing Society, the Budapest Wandering Chorus, the Canticum Novum Women's Choir, the Iglice Folk Dance Ensemble, as well as pupils from the Törökvész út Elementary School, the Andor Ilona Music School and the Egressy Béni Music School will team up in the Millennium Yard of the Westend City Center shopping mall between 10:45 and 16:15 on Saturday to perform Kodály's works.

The series, organized by Miga Film Productions and commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Balassi Institute, marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Kodály, one of Hungary's most famous composers and collectors of folk music. Already, local musicians have participated in concerts at ten venues around Hungary as part of the series.
