Budapest?s Liszt Academy of Music took the stage on Saturday and the Liszt Academy in Bayreuth performed on Sunday.
Liszt Academy of Music director András Batta said the concerts in Bayreuth?s Stadthalle were organised by Hungarofest and the local council of Bayreuth for World Liszt Day, the 200th anniversary of the musician?s birth.
Bayreuth Mayor Michael Hohl delivered a speech before the concert on Saturday and the renowned music historian Detlef Altenburg spoke about Liszt?s career during the intermission.
Bata, together with Péter Erdei, who directs the academy?s orchestra and choir, laid a wreath at the grave of Liszt on Saturday afternoon.
