Detoni, who was born in 1983, studied under László Baranyay at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, with Itamar Golan at the Paris Conservatory and with Emanuel Krasovsky and Pnina Salzman at the Tel Hai Summer Academy in Israel.
Detoni has performed in Paris, Vienna, Prague, Brussels, Tel-Aviv, Sarajevo and Ljubljana.
He says 20th century composers are his favourite, including Debussy and Bartók.
Detoni's mother, Xenia Detoni, is a well known translator of Hungarian literature into Croatian. She has translated the works of Nobel Prize-winning author Imre Kertész as well as Péter Esterházy.
