The statue, by István Madarassy, was inaugurated in the the Chapelle des Redemptoristes, which operates as a cultural centre.
The inauguration was attended by Hungarofest director in charge of international relations Magda A. Szabó, as well as representatives of the Hungarian embassy and the Hungarian Institute in Paris.
After the inauguration, the pianists Gergely Bogányi and Adrienn Krausz played a Liszt concert at the Equinox centre of Chateauroux.
The inauguration was a special event on the programme of Chateauroux?s Lisztomanias festival, which the city is hosting for the tenth time this year.
