The Molnár Dixieland Band and the Vivace dance ensemble will open the festival in Belgrade on June 14. The next day, an exhibition of photographs by Ottó Kaiser entitled Thousand Miracles from Hungary will open at the Serbian National Bank. The Liszt Chamber Orchestra, conducted by János Rolla, will play a concert in the evening.
Hungary's State Folk Ensemble will perform their popular show Sun Legend on June 16. Young audiences will be entertained by the 30Y group at the Belgrade Youth Centre and the János Nagy Freestyle Sextet featuring Magdi Rúzsa will perform at the Movie Bar.
Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó's film Delta will be screened and the Serbian Theatre of Hungary will perform Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf.
Nis, Serbia's third-biggest city, will host a performance by the Dezső Kosztolányi Theatre from Subotica and a show by the State Folk Ensemble. The Csík group and the János Nagy Freestyle Sextett with Magdi Rúzsa will also perform. An exhibition of photographs by Károly Csonka from Pécs will be on display.
Madjart '09 will be a part of the Vidovdan Festival in Krusevác. The Garden Quartet from Subotica, the Csík group, 30Y, the János Nagy Freestyle Sextet with Magdi Rúzsa, and the State Folk Ensemble will all perform. Works by the Pécs artist Balázs Gróf will also be shown.
