Live Nation Hungary expressed a lack of understanding of MLSZ's decision and said they had offered to replace the turf, which MLSZ had specified as their main concern regarding the event.
The concert was originally scheduled to take place at Kincsem park but Live Nation Hungary last week announced Puskas Stadium as the new venue. However, MLSZ said in a statement on Monday that it would under no circumstances agree to the concert taking place at the stadium on August 22 and would not have talks on the request.
Two important World Cup matches will be held in the stadium soon after the concert and "two years' of work would be ruined because of Madonna's concert," the MLSZ said earlier.
The operator of Puskas Stadium, NUSI, expressed regret on Wednesday that the concert could not be held there.
